Transmission was only in use for less than a minute this morning while I drove up the car ramps. The stuff coming out is like a frothy milkshake, caramel in color, not clear at all. Took me a few minutes to realize where the actual drain bolt was but of course it is because I am a newb. The moment I opened the fill bolt, fluid started coming out of it, fortunately I had the oil pan ready to collect that part - I guess that means it was overfilled? Others working on an unknown car should be ready for that. MT-90 just slid right down smooth as water. I bought three feet for $1.50 total Lowes, and then tied it to the hood of the car with a funnel shoved inside the other end to fill. Just try it with straight Redline MT-85 instead.īTW I discovered vinyl tubing that is 5/8" outer diameter and 1/2" inner diameter fits perfectly into the fill hole and holds firm. If you insist on mixing Redline MT-90 with synchromesh, mix with Redline MT-80 synchomesh fluid which is also a group V ester based synthetic.
